Kampala Central Police Station has made headlines with the arrest of two food vendors, Mariam Namugerwa and Nakawojja Josephine, for allegedly selling food suspected to contain a baby’s penis. The shocking incident, which occurred at the E-Tower building along Buganda Road in Kampala, has sparked widespread concern and prompted swift action from law enforcement authorities.

The arrest came after a customer, Ronald Bwemage, ordered food from Mariam Namugerwa, one of the vendors operating in the corridor of E-Tower. Upon receiving his order, which included rice, matooke, and meat, Bwemage noticed something alarming: a piece of meat that resembled the penis of a young baby. Despite raising his concerns with the vendors, Bwemage claims that his complaints were ignored, prompting him to report the matter to the police.

In response to the report, the police launched an investigation, seizing the food in question as evidence. The recovered food has been submitted to a pathologist for examination and analysis, with the aim of determining the nature and origin of the suspected meat. Meanwhile, the suspects, Mariam Namugerwa and Nakawojja Josephine, have been detained pending further inquiries into the matter.

The allegations have sent shockwaves through the community, raising questions about food safety and the integrity of food vendors in Kampala. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and oversight in ensuring the quality and safety of food sold to the public.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or concerns regarding food safety. The case highlights the need for increased awareness and regulation to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future, safeguarding the health and well-being of consumers.

The outcome of the investigation is eagerly awaited, with many hoping for swift justice and accountability for those responsible. In the meantime, the incident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of diligence and caution when it comes to food consumption, underscoring the need for robust measures to uphold food safety standards in Kampala and beyond.
